What Our Clients Say
I had an initial consultation with Giedre Astrauskas, and it was a wonderful experience. She was knowledgeable, kind, and easy to talk to. I left the appointment feeling optimistic and excited to move forward with the program. Unfortunately, my experience with the administrative side of the practice was very different. After scheduling my appointments, I had several questions regarding billing procedures and how my secondary insurance coverage would be handled. While I understand that not all insurance plans are accepted, I felt that my questions were not clearly answered. I was simply trying to understand the practice's billing process and my potential financial responsibility. The situation culminated in an email response advising me to "study and understand" my own insurance because it is not the responsibility of the practitioner to explain it. Regardless of the intent behind the message, I found the wording dismissive and unprofessional for someone seeking care. To the practice's credit, someone called me after I expressed my concerns and attempted to clarify the situation. However, by that point, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward. My decision to cancel was not based on Giedre, who was excellent and someone I would have liked to work with. It was based solely on the communication I experienced during the billing process. I hope this feedback helps improve the patient experience for future clients. 2nd - Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify that my concern was never that my GAP insurance was not accepted. I fully understand that providers choose which insurance plans they participate with, and I have no issue with your practice's insurance policies. My questions were related to your billing process and my potential financial responsibility as a patient. As someone who works extensively with employee benefits and insurance plans, I am well aware that patients are ultimately responsible for understanding their coverage. What I found disappointing was not the answer itself, but the tone of the communication. Statements such as "Responsibility is an essential part of adulthood. We hope you learn that skill set" feel personal and unnecessary in a professional healthcare setting. I was genuinely interested in working with The Harvest Method and had a very positive experience with Giedre Astrauskas during my initial consultation. In fact, my decision to schedule follow-up appointments was based on how much I enjoyed meeting with her. Unfortunately, the communication that followed left me feeling uncomfortable moving forward. I wish Giedre and The Harvest Method continued success and appreciate the time that was taken to speak with me by phone. Sincerely, Marcia Diaz
