Hippie Hair

this little blend of lavender, cedarwood and clary sage with alcohol-free toner makes a hair strengthener that's both amazing to smell and powerful as an additional protector for your tresses.

cedarwood stimulates the scalp's circulation, which promotes healthy hair growth and prevents breakage and hair loss.  clary sage helps stimulate healthy, balanced oil production which is necessary to keep those long, flowing ends vibrant and strong.  lavender helps cleanse the scalp without stripping those needed oils like shampoos do.

instead of washing and stripping your hair every day, minimize the shampooing  to 1 or 2 times each week.  wear a shower cap to bathe the other day.  every am and pm, shake this blend and spray it into your scalp.  3 or 4 sprays to cover the whole head will do.  let it set for 1 minute and then brush from root to end, gently distributing the blend throughout the hair.  if your hair is mermaid long, spray a bit more on the ends to make sure they get some oil and tone too.

LADY BALANCE

sometimes we rage. that’s totally cool, welcome and invited.

sometimes we cry...also cool, welcome and invited.

because some people might not be as actualized as the emotionally intelligent feelers out there are, soothing and accepting yourself for your emotional expression is warranted. this blend helps with that as well as the lovely physiological effects of shifting hormones throughout the feminine fertility cycle. basil is the oil of renewal.  it helps with anxiety, fear and nervousness.  clary sage is known as the "woman’s oil". it soothes stressed nerves and emotions provoked by the female hormonal cycle.  cypress helps with emotional stress, reduces trouble sleeping, and heals recent trauma or shock.  eucalyptus brightens mood.  frankincense assists dropping out of the mind and ego and moving into presence with their spirit or center of consciousness.  it's the "meditation oil".  geranium promotes inner peace and tranquility.  lavender promotes calm.  marjoram helps with relaxation and stress reduction.  ylang ylang just makes you feel sexy, no matter what is going on "down there".  apply to the soles of your feet and the front of your ankles am and pm.

a massage before bed, even if it's just a quick rub to apply oils, helps circulation, healing, release of the day and a cool, calm entry into lullaby land.  i recommend a 10 minute practice of skin brushing (we will discuss next time) followed by 10 minutes of self-massage.  while applying pressure in long weighted strokes on limbs and circular motions at joints, the abdomen, heels, feet and hands, think about the day and silently or out loud say "i let go of..." for each event you recall.  practice declaring your let go of the good, the not so good, the laughter, the worry, the ideas the thoughts, feelings and to-do's for another time.  just let go and give yourself the gift of touch to aid the process.
